I am seeing that the Man child, the remnant as you describe, will suffer trials and persecution akin to what Christ suffered in the flesh leading up to the crucifixion. And it will come at the hands of the modern day equivalent type and shadow of the Roman government in awkward alliance with the modern day Pharisees/false church. This study will motivate me to dig into this further. Thanks again!
